The Bernice Kish Gallery at Slayton House in Wilde Lake is reopening October 19 with “Ideas and Imaginings”. Diana Marta’s watercolor/mixed media exhibit also features works by nine of the painters studying in her classes at the Howard County Center for the Arts.
Long before Covid closings the exhibit had been scheduled for 2020. Although the time delay was challenging, it gave participants additional months to develop their work. And the time lapse allowed for the inclusion of new painters. Some of the exhibitors are beginners showing their work for the first time. Others have shown in juried exhibits for years. Any one of them could be your neighbor.
Diana has been a college and university credit instructor for the thirty-five years that she has also taught in her studio. A contemporary artist, she encourages painters to expand their own ideas while learning traditional and inventive watercolor approaches.
With Covid precautions, a reception is planned for 3pm-5 pm. on Sunday, October 24. Classical jazz by James Stivers and Tom Monroe will accompany this event. Masks are required.
